Bookmobile Service Modifications

Huntington Park is discontinued effective after tomorrow, Friday, September 5 (11 am-noon). A new, nearby bi-weekly Bookmobile site at The Court at Rushdale (1360 Upper Sherman Ave) will start on Friday, September 19 (11 am-noon).

Queen Victoria Elementary School will now visit from 3-4 pm (instead of 3:30-4:30 pm

Study Halls Return September 2

Study Halls at Central Library and Dundas, Red Hill, Terryberry, Turner Park, Valley Park, and Waterdown branches resume on Tuesday, September 2. They will be open after-hours Mondays-Thursdays from 8 pm to Midnight. www.hpl.ca/study-halls

Kenilworth Branch - Temporary Closure (Sept 2 - Oct 10)

Due to roof repair maintenance, the Branch is temporarily closed from September 2 until October 10. Please visit the Red Hill, Parkdale, and Barton locations as your nearest branches for your library needs. On August 28-29, there may be some noise disruptions and limited parking spots while the roof repair set-up begins. Thank you for your patience.

As of September 2023, the Valley Park Branch has earned a LEED Gold Certification.

LEED®, and its related logo, is licensed in Canada to the Canada Green Building Council and is used here with permission.

Did you know that Valley Park was constructed with eco-friendly materials keeping environmental concerns in mind? Play the new LEED Scavenger Hunt at our Valley Park Branch and win fun prizes. The scavenger hunt engages and educates Members about sustainability in interactive ways.The Branch is targeting LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Gold Certification, a mark of quality and achievement in sustainable building. Pursuing LEED certification involves using green building strategies across six categories. The six categories of LEED are Location and TransportationSustainable SitesWater Use ReductionEnergy and AtmosphereMaterials and Resources and Indoor Environmental Quality. Update May 5, 2022:

Hamilton Public Library’s new Valley Park Branch at 970 Paramount Drive is now open. Stop in and see the latest collections and newest features including a Makerspace, a meeting and program room, study rooms and areas, and more.


Update April 8, 2022:

Hamilton Public Library’s temporary Valley Park Branch (1050 Paramount Dr., Unit 12) is closing on Saturday April 23 at 5pm. The outdoor drop box closes on April 26.

The new location at 970 Paramount Drive is expected to open in May 2022. Starting April 27, please return your library materials to the new exterior wall return slot.
