Locke Branch - Filming Nearby

Filming will take place at 86 Homewood Avenue from January 28-30, 7 am-11 pm. Production vehicles and equipment will be located on the north side of Stanley Avenue between Locke Street South and Kent Street. This will impact the availability of side-street parking. Thank you for your patience.

Daily print balances for black and white and colour printing change January 2, 2026. The new daily print balance is 40 cents. Members receive four free black and white copies or two free colour copies.

June is National Indigenous History Month and June 21 is National Indigenous Peoples Day, a time to honour the history, heritage and diversity of Indigenous peoples in Canada. Learn and celebrate with HPL’s collections, programs and events.

National Indigenous History Month: Blood & Water - In-Branch Program

Watch Blood & Water: A Story of Reclamation, which exposes the modern-day impact and generational trauma caused by residential schools. The screening is followed by a question session with the director Layla Staats.  

Indigenous Storytelling: Save Turtle Island - In-Branch Program
