Show Your Library Some Love: Help Us Reach 7 Million Items Borrowed In 2016
HAMILTON, ON – October 21, 2016 – Hamilton Public Library launches its seven million challenge, calling on the help of customers to reach a 2016 circulation goal of seven million items borrowed by December 31, 2016.
WHAT: The challenge encourages staff and customers to put their library cards to good use over the next three months and help the Library reach its largest circulation goal to-date. Every item borrowed counts towards the goal, so take a few extra items with you each time you borrow. Borrowing can be done online at hpl.ca or in-person at any Hamilton Public Library Branch until the end of December. As of September 2016, HPL was approximately 2 million items away from our goal.
WHO: 22 Branches and two bookmobiles are participating in this challenge and items can be physically borrowed by visiting any of these locations.
Items can also be borrowed online from Hamilton Public Library’s large electronic resource collection.
WHEN: The challenge is now underway and will run until the end of December 2016. Monthly progress updates will be available online at hpl.ca.
WHERE: To participate in this challenge, visit any of Hamilton Public Library’s 22 locations, two bookmobiles, or check out HPL’s digital collection available at hpl.ca. Throughout this challenge, don’t forget to share what you’re reading by using #HPLreads and tweeting us at @HamiltonLibrary.
