Hamilton is a city of entrepreneurial families. The Schwengers: Michael and Jane are part of this lineage, blending hard-earned business success with a strong family commitment to philanthropy, volunteerism and their hometown.
Married for 39 years, Michael is CEO of the family business The StressCrete Group – North America’s leading manufacturer of spun concrete poles and decorative streetlight fixtures. This Hamilton success story includes facilities in Canada and the United States.
Here at home Michael and Jane and their four children are committed to their city. Both personally and through their newly formed family foundation, they support St. Joseph’s Healthcare, Hamilton Health Sciences, the Art Gallery of Hamilton, Royal Botanical Gardens, Carpenter Hospice, Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice, Theatre Aquarius and Virtual YMCA among others. Michael is the chair of Hamilton’s Theatre Aquarius.
Their support strengthens these important community organizations. The Schwengers frequently open their home to host events, volunteer their time to serve on many community boards. For proving the adage charity begins at home and for their commitment to Hamilton, Michael and Jane Schwenger are wonderful additions to Hamilton’s Gallery of Distinction.
