Brief History

• The first library in Dundas was established in 1822
• In 1909, the Carnegie Library opened at King and Ogilvie Streets and remained in operation until 1970 when a new adult library opened a few doors away
• The Carnegie Library continued to house the Children’s Department until 1979 when a new addition at the Ogilvie site finally allowed for the integration of both into one facility

 

Dundas Branch Today

• The branch offers materials for children, teens and adults including books, CDs, DVDs, magazines, newspapers and more
• The branch houses a Dundas local history collection
• Services include programming for adults, children and teens
• Public Internet access computers include adult and children’s software applications
• Self Checkout

*Dundas Branch is open Sundays from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. from the second Sunday in September to the last Sunday in April. Sunday service is not available from May to September.
